I was really hoping it wouldn’t turn out this way, but it’s almost certain the MS Gulf Coast is going to take a direct hit from Nate.
The good news is that it’s flying (moving at 26 mph per the 10am advisory) and that the hurricane force winds don’t stretch out very far. The bad news is that it’s now projected to be a Cat. 2 by landfall tonight.
I know other areas have had it way worse this year, but it still sucks that we’re in the path of one. By the time Nate comes in it will mean every Gulf Coast state has been majorly effected by a landfalling hurricane.
Thankfully with us being an hour inland my family and I should be ok, but I feel bad for those further south.

either way be cautions for the winds and any potential flooding. Gas up and get groceries because even if it misses, that stuff will get hard to find

As you are inland, my advice is; take the tornado warnings seriously.

Always. Had and EF-3 pass within a mile of our house back in January. It’s always tornado season around here lol.

Indeed. Did all that last night. Always be prepared regardless of what the storm does.

Good luck!
We were hit by the first big band of rain this morning. No big deal. Since we are on the weak side, things should be ok. We’re praying for those to the east of us!
